Unidentified manuscript

Michael Rabe, April 2000

Someone contacted me wondering if I could help identify a palm leaf manuscript. I was hesitant to bother, but agreed and was surprised to see that the mss. is in perfect condition, and in Sinhalese, it appears. I've posted the sample xerox the party left me at

Since the covers are only floral ptg on wood, and there are no illustrations the mss has minimal artistic value--more as a text, perhaps, depending on what it is.

The text appears to be part of some longer work...as it has no obvious opening or colophon. Thus, I'm hoping that someone on the list might be able to recognize a clue to genre at least from this fragment. I've added a mailto: back to me on the web page.

Thanks,
